This is a train-the-teacher session, where PYD staff demonstrate a training that we have run with our volunteer mentors.
In this recording, PYD staff define ageism and reflect upon the various ways it can be relevant or appear in mentoring programs – in reference to mentees, mentors, or staff. There are recommendations made on how programs can combat ageism in their programming, and group reflection through scenario questions.
This project was supported by a grant awarded by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice. The opinions, findings, and conclusions or recommendations expressed in this recording are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily reflect those of the Department of Justice.
