This is a train-the-teacher session, where PYD staff demonstrate a training that we have run with our volunteer mentors.
In this recording, PYD staff define the concepts of both disability and trauma, and spend time reflecting as a group about how these two concepts interrelate and intersect. There is discussion of best practices for trauma-informed programming, brainstorming of stress-relief ideas, and group discussion about scenarios.
This project was supported by a grant awarded by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice.
