Creating an Inclusive Intramural, Recreation, and Club Sports Program on Campus

This guidebook is about inclusion in campus sports and recreation programs. Written by Timotheus “T.J.” Gordon Jr., a researcher at University of Illinois – Chicago, 2021 Dinah F. Cohen DREAM Fellow, and an autistic sports enthusiast, this guidebook discusses ways that campus intramural sports and recreation programs could attract and include students, staff, and faculty with disabilities.

In this guidebook, Timotheus Gordon provides examples on ways that intramural and recreation programs on campuses can attract and include more students, faculty and staff with disabilities. Examples of inclusion steps include, but are not limited to, providing accessible equipment, creating inclusion statements, offer adaptive versions of sports and activities offered in your recreational/intramural program, and more.
